Shalom and happy Sabbath!

Today we will be talking about ginger.

Ginger is similar to the shape of our stomach and it has amazing benefits to it.

Since 1980, experts have proven that ginger can cure wound in the stomach. A study published in Journal Molecular Nutrition Food and Research mentioned that ginger is 6-8 times stronger than prevacid, a medicine usually used to treat gastric acid.

Besides, ingredients that gives unique smell and taste in ginger is listed in United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) database as phytochemicals that has benefits to cope with nausea and vomiting.

To use ginger as natural remedy, we can process or consume it in different ways. One way is to slice or cut into small cubes and boil in water. Consuming 4 grams of ginger is enough to treat gastric acid symptoms that disturb.

One out of many ways that triggers the increase of gastric acid is sodas (quoted from promag.id). This kind of drink can release thirst, but sometimes can make us burp. Burping is the way of our body to release gas from the stomach. Unfortunately, this can increase the gastric acid. In other words, sodas and junk food is better to be avoided for those who experience the increase of gastric acid.

Sodas and junk food is indeed delicious, but the Bible also reminds us to control our appetite. That is why there is a verse that says, “And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.” (Proverbs 23:2-3)

Let us pray that we can control our appetite.

God bless you all. Amen.
