Worldly tastes and practices are not the same as heavenly tastes and practices.
Indeed, we now live in this world, but we ought to have heavenly taste. Indeed, we now live in this world, but we ought to have heavenly discernment. Indeed, we now live in this world, but we ought to have heavenly lifestyle.
“We are nearing the end of time, and we want now, not to meet the world’s tastes and practices, but to meet the mind of God; to see what saith the Scriptures, and then to walk according to the light which God has given us.”
The Faith I Live By 152.2
That is why the Bible gives us an admonition, “be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
Let us not follow this world’s tastes and practices “for all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” (1 John 2:16-17)
May we always hear what the Bible says and walk according to the light that God has given to us.
May the blessing of this Sabbath be upon us. Amen.
