Shalom and happy Sabbath.
Welcome back to the “Foods That Look Like Body Parts” devotion series.
Today we will be learning from what many of the Indonesians call country food—the sweet potatoes. It has great benefits for our pancreas.
Did you know? Sweet potato is good for our pancreas because the natural sugars which come from the complex carbohydrate contained in it can help stabilizing blood sugar level in our bodies. it also contains vitamin B6 which according to researches, it can prevent the growth of pancreatic cancer cells.
Sometimes, many of us take this “country food” for granted, whereas it has benefits for our bodies. It also applies to the things that has great benefits in our daily lives, but we often take for granted.
Let us now go to this Bible verse, “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 3:15)
It says that the Word of God guides us into eternal live, instead of eternal death.
Thus, make it as our only source of strength and hope. Do not ever take it for granted because He will pour His blessings onto His children who are faithful in obeying His truth.
Today is the Sabbath day and through one of the 10 commandments, God has reminded us to “remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” (Exodus 20:8)
God established the two institutions in the Garden of Eden—the marriage and the Sabbath. All days are good indeed, but the seventh-day Sabbath is special because “God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it ….” (Genesis 2:3)
So, as we celebrate and keep this Sabbath day holy, may we receive the blessings God has promised to all of us.
God bless you all. Amen.
