Shalom and happy Sabbath!
We all hope that you are having a joyful day today as it is the Sabbath day.
Have you ever imagined if we had to work every single day, without any day of rest from all our worldly toils? What will happen to us? We might be easily sick or stressed because of the workload we have to bear.
If we are busy with our works and duties during our working days, we might not have a lot of time to gather with our family. However, we will have time for the family on Sabbaths. Why? Because, “Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.” (Exodus 20:9-10)
It means that parents as well as children will have a family gathering time because all cease from their worldly toils.
In the book of Child Guidance it says, “… let the members of the family assemble to read God’s Word, to sing and pray.” (Child Guidance 529.1)
This is a very delightful time when the family can gather together to read the Word of God, sing, and pray together. A day spent together; a day full of great joy.
May every Sabbath be a day of delight for all families.
God bless you all. Amen.
