Shalom, happy Sabbath!
We may have heard or felt in the family, “My mother being unjust because she loves my brother or sister more than me.”
We may also have ever wondered about how a mother who has more than 1 child share her love for her children.
Do you think if a mother has 4 children, then the fair of love sharing would be:
25% for each child, or
a bigger portion for the older ones, or
a bigger portion for the smaller ones?
A mother’s love is not divided among her children, so that each one only receives a third, a quarter, or a fifth of her love; but each one is the object of all her affections.
Then a question in the Bible arises: “Is Christ divided?” (1 Corinthians 1:13a)
Obviously the answer is NO! Christ has been given to all human beings, so each person gets everything from Him. God’s love embraces the whole world, but that love also applies to each individual.
How great is God’s perfect love! Greater than any mother’s love. “… for God is love” (1 John 4:8) means that He Himself is love.
No wonder it says in the Bible that: “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” (Isaiah 49:15)
Christ is the light of the world, the Sun of Truth. But light is not divided among men.
If a room full of people is illuminated with bright light, each person benefits from all that light, just as if he is alone in the room.
Thus the life of Christ enlightens every human being born in this world and in every believing heart, Christ lives in all His fullness.
May the Sabbath blessings be a part of all of us. Amen.
