Happy Sabbath!
It was while experimenting with the telegraph machine that Alexander Graham Bell developed the idea for the telephone.
Remarkably, just hours after Bell filed for a patent on the telephone, another inventor named Elisha Gray, filed a claim that she invented the telephone and Bell could not get a patent.
The other party also claimed to have invented the telephone before Bell, but none of them were able to prove it at trial!
Bell had to fight for his rights of the telephone around 600 times before the United States Supreme Court officially declared, once for all, that Bell was indeed the inventor of the telephone. What a struggle for Bell!
From Bell’s experience, we can also relate it to our lives as we are striving for the seal of God which He has promised to grand to those who are faithful as written in Revelation 7:2, “And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God …”
“The seal of the living God will be placed upon those only who bear a likeness to Christ in character.”
The SDA Bible Commentary Vol. 7, 970.3
But, like Bell who tried 600 times, we have our own struggle, our own trials, our own ups and downs before we are declared worthy to get God’s seal.
Therefore, as we have received the salvation as a gift from the Father above, we have our part to do as written in Philippians 2:12, “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2:12)
“Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.”
2 Peter 3:14
Happy Sabbath and God bless us all. Amen.
