Shalom Happy Sabbath!
Do you guys know the story behind “God Will Take Care of You” song? Let’s hear the story!
Walter and Civilla Martin were a married couple dedicated their lives to God’s work. They were very active in teaching the bible and delivering the message of God’s love through Bible meetings and Revivals.
One day, while being on a bible school in Lestershire, New York, Walter got a call for preaching at a place that was quite far from where they were then. And suddenly, at the very same time, Civilla got sick and made her to rest completely and was unable to accompany her husband in the ministry far from their current place.
Because of the distance that Martin had to travel and the time that he would have to spend, they began to confer and plan to cancel the speaking engagement. However, while they were conferring, their son who was still at a young age heard their conversation and said, “Father, don’t you think that if God wants you to preach today, He will take care of Mother while you are away?”
These are the words of faith from their son which finally made up the faith of Martin to go and serve.
Her son’s statement gave Civilla an inspiration to write the lyrics of the hymn “God Will Take Care of You.”
Be not dismayed whate’er betide
God will take care of you
Beneath His wings of love abide
God will take care of you
God will take care of you
Through every day, o’er all the way
He will take care of you
God will take care of you
Let us not be afraid of troubles that happen in our lives, instead, “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” (Psalms 55:22 – KJV)
If you are facing a problem today, keep on remembering that the good Lord will always take care and protect us.
The question for us today is that, Have we given thanks to God this day over every God’s care and protection for us? If we haven’t yet, let us pray and give thanks while keep believing that God will always take care His people who are faithful to Him.
Happy Sabbath and God bless you.
